Travel means something different to you than it did to your grandparents. Today, travel means a room as comfy as your own, a community ready to welcome you, and a truly memorable experience — or at least we think it should.
That’s why we brought this historic property back to life. Built in 1926, it’s got that classic, art-deco vibe your Grams would love — but it’s also got that modern, boutique-hotel feel you would love. And, after you explore our property, we’re pretty sure you will.
With 39 guest rooms and suites, The Gin Hotel is the largest hotel in downtown Lexington. We’re big and boutique-y — the best of both worlds.
Whether you’re traveling alone, with a partner, or with the whole family, you’ll find a room perfectly suited for either business or pleasure. Book a Queen Double with two Serta mattresses, a King Standard with breathtaking views, or a King Suite with an extra-spacious corner layout.
Curl up in the coziest rooms in the Blue Ridge area
Your room’s where the magic happens, but the rest of our property is just as enchanting. From your 8am coffee to your 8pm nightcap, you may not want to leave the hotel at all… (but you really should, because downtown Lexington is adorable).

As an Italian immigrant, our owner, Ugo Benincasa, worked hard to achieve “the American dream.” After working at and later owning several pizza shops, he discovered a passion for restoring and reviving historic properties, with the goal of driving his community forward.
When Ugo saw the opportunity to bring this property back to life, he seized it. Today, with the help of our super-friendly staff, he and his family help run this new boutique hotel in Lexington.
When you stay with us, you’re served by a team who genuinely cares about providing you with personal service and a refreshing atmosphere…and, yes, a great gin and tonic. We’ll see you at the bar.
